Integrated landscape management (ILM) is increasingly recognized as one of the most effective ways to address today’s interconnected climate, biodiversity, food security, and economic development challenges. Yet locally led landscape partnerships cannot achieve their full potential without supportive national and sub-national policies.
Join 1000 Landscapes for 1 Billion People and the GALLOP Initiative for the official launch of the new policy vision paper, Landscapes as Engines of Prosperity: A New Policy Vision for Integrated Landscape Management. This interactive dialogue will bring together policymakers and global experts to explore how national and sub-national governments can create the enabling conditions needed for integrated landscape management to thrive. Together, we’ll explore practical policy recommendations that can help governments move beyond fragmented approaches and enable landscape partnerships to deliver lasting environmental, social, and economic impact.

The Global Livelihoods and Landscape Recovery Platform (GALLOP) is an Integrated Landscape Management (ILM) policy think tank working to craft a holistic policy vision for ILM and drive policy reform for Governments. GALLOP advances policies that promote sustainability at the ground level through UNCCD’s ILM practices.
1000 Landscapes for 1 Billion People (1000L) is a radical collaboration of change agents working together to accelerate landscape efforts to sustain and restore ecosystems, build rural prosperity and confront climate change.
1000L is convened by EcoAgriculture Partners, and co-led with Rainforest Alliance, Commonland, Conservation International, the United Nations Development Programme, Landscape Finance Lab, and information technology leader Tech Matters. Another 20+ partners are sharing technical and financial expertise, and 12+ Landscape Partnerships are co-designing the initiative.
